Journey unknown

Kiss me on a path where we could meet
A jumpstart to my heart, and a quickening in my feet
Blood rushing throughout my veins
Breaking free from these restrained chains
My mind wonders to thoughts of you
These fonder feelings are growing anew
Laying dormant for way too long
Opening myself up as I hum to this song
Once vulnerable to the art of love
I paint a new drawing as I let go of
A past that no longer serves me well
I’m beginning to come out of this shell
I feel free to express all that’s in me
May I no longer pretend to be
Take my hand and there It will feel safe
I promise that I too will be brave
To walk along this journey unknown
And never again to feel alone …
